Medical Education in the High Country Keynote address by Dr. Andrew Saal, M.D., FAAFP Medical Director of North Country Health Care Dr. Saal has worked with Physician Assistants throughout his career and is an advocate for high quality, independent & interdependent primary care practices. Dr. Saal will summarize his perspectives on the critical role that Physician Assistants play in primary care for under-served populations and rural communities.
Review the many roles of a Physician Assistant in a rural primary care setting and describe how it varies from specialty roles -review barriers to health care in rural Arizona and the positive impact that Physician Assistants can have in primary care settings. Other topics will include but not limited to Diabetes, Cardiology, Maternal-Child Health and Orthopedics.
