A Letter From the President

Welcome to all Arizona PA’s:

I am proud to be an ASAPA member and honored and excited to begin my term as your President. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with and be mentored by two of ASAPA’s most effective past presidents: Michelle DiBaise and Kari Shmul. Fortunately, both Michelle and Kari will continue to be involved with ASAPA in leadership roles.

Our new leadership team is well experienced and full of energy. I am looking forward to working with ASAPA members and non-members to promote and grow our organization for the benefit of physician assistants statewide. We, as physician assistants, must be proactive in our pursuit to provide top quality, effective health care to individuals. ASAPA is here to provide resources and support to allow you to give the best possible care to your patients and for those of you in academia, the best education to your students. This is accomplished through our strong network base and legislative team that is keeping a constant watch on PA practice laws. This past year we have spent a great deal of time researching what Arizona PA’s want and need. We have listened and are ready to act. ASAPA needs the support of every Arizona PA to be effective in our pursuit to make our practice environment the most patient friendly and effective as it can be.

I encourage and challenge each member to volunteer two hours of your time to ASAPA and for those who are non-members I encourage and challenge you to become members and join our pursuit to make Arizona the best state in which to practice and teach. The ASAPA leadership team welcomes all recommendations and feedback and encourages you to attend our meetings and become involved.

This is an exciting and challenging time in healthcare and we, as PA’s, have the very special privilege of being at the forefront and providing a solution to the problems in our current healthcare system. Together we are better and stronger!

Sincerely,

Tracy Jones, M.S., PA-C
